What tools do you use?
And the next tool

The next tool I’m missing here is a simple time-tracking tool. I’ve played with a couple, including TimeLog, a desktop app for Mac, but I haven’t found any that I’m actually willing to pay money for. I like the fact that the timer runs on my desktop, so it reminds me to log when I’m working, but the interface is poor. There’s also the other TimeLog, which is web-based and very powerful, but it’s too much and too expensive for my small needs (Disclaimer: I know the people behind Timelog.com).

I use planner timeclock mode for emacs :) Since I am always in emacs anyway its the perfect solution for me. Timeclock mode itself is built in to emacs 21. planner mode adds a powerful task manager, and note taking system as well.
One day I'd like to get a Mac so I'd love to find something that integrates as well as these tools and integrates with the underlying desktop as well. Some people do everything in emacs, but I can't bring myself to go that far, so for email, etc. I need other tools to work with it.
