Salsa and Ketchup

Something else I learned on my recent trip to the US is that salsa is now outselling ketchup. That was quite a surprise to me, albeit a pleasant one.

It wasn’t until now, however, that I discovered that the dethronement apparently took place more than 14 years ago! Wow!

    You obviously don't know your Seinfeld. In season 5 George notes to Jerry that "Salsa is now the #1 condiment in America". (Jerry replies that this is because people like saying "salsa".)

    You're right, I don't. I'm still trying to figure out which TV series to pick up as a replacement for West Wing. Seinfeld, Lost, and 24 hours are all in game, as are others that I can't recall right now.
