The sources are still super-crappy. I’m working on a rewrite, but as we all know, those things take time, especially when you’re trying to run a company on the side. :)

New version of my krak search available here: /download/krak.xml.
My RSS feed has been stalling since the hard drive failure, but it’s back up again now. Sorry about that.
I was really hoping that Lindows would turn out to be something else. But today they announced Lindows 2.0, and there’s really nothing new here. A download portal where you (gasp!) can download GIMP, support for printing (wow!), Wi-Fi and Networking (which is cool, mind you, but it’s not exactly mind-breaking), and other minor things. Not exactly ground-breaking. No longer do they claim that they can run Windows apps. Too bad.
Can’t wait to get my hands on Mark Hertsgaard’s The Eagle’s Shadow: Why America Fascinates and Infuriates the World, looks very interesting.
Apparantly, Oracle Maagazine is the most popular American magazine in Japan: Variety.ne.jp
I’ve added email notification support, and a calendar widget, and several other minor enhancements to lars-blogger. You can always find the latest version in the OpenACS cvs tree.
Unfortunately, this site is running a too outdated version of OpenACS to run the new lars-blogger, so it’ll have to wait a little while longer before you see it here.
Does anybody know more about Ace?
We’ve started the project to internationalize OpenACS, .LRN, and .WRK, and we’re really excited about it. We’re looking forward to seeing our software run in German, Spanish, Polish, Greek, Swedish, and Danish soon :)
... and why they don’t mix well. Broadcast Institutions, Community Values by Clay Shirky. I’ve been a fan of Clay’s for several years now.
elgooG :)
My Mom had a printout of my bookshelf page, so now the book reviews have been restored since the hard drive failure :)
I’m still looking for snapshots of my front page if anyone should have any.
You can read the extended version of the story over at collaboraid.biz, but basically I’ve had a hard drive crash, and I didn’t have adequate backups.
I’ve set up a version of the site from June 15. And I’ve been able to recover most of the data since then from various sources, including Google Cache. I have web log up to August 5, and bookreviews up till July 28, the “Influence” book. (I haven’t had time to actually stuff it back into the database, though.)
If you have stuff from August sitting in your browser cache, including the blog, book reviews, photo gallery thumbnail pages, etc., please email it to me, either as HTML files or as a gif or however is possible for you.
Also, if you downloaded the “lars-stuff” via anonymous CVS, then please tar that up and send that to me as well, since I’ve lost parts of that code, too.
Thanks a bunch. Let’s just say that this whole things has been slightly annoying, but that I’ve no-one to blame but myself :)
