Diana's account of the OpenACS Social

July 08, 2003 · 1 comment

There was nowhere to hide. Well written and hilarious account of what it was like for an outsider to be part of the OpenACS conference/social in Copenhagen in April. So we’re androgynous, huh? And I wonder who that guy who used to head the cheese department at Dean & Deluca is.

The commoditization of software

July 06, 2003 · 0 comments

Tim O’Reilly: Software licenses don’t work. Software is becoming a commodity, and the value is moving up the stack to data, as in Ebay, Amazon and Google.

Pretty much what he said at Reboot, but still a very interesting rehash.

Interesting to see what the DELL of the software industry is going to look like. The build-to-order shop utilizing commodity parts.

Thanks, Mohan.
